Militärwissenschaftliche Mitteilungen was the Fachzeitschrift or Official Magazine of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Wehrpolitik und Wehrwissenschaften, the ”German Association for Military Policy and Military Science” in Berlin. The mission of this Nazi organization was to inform members of the Wehrmacht on the very latest information in the field of the Armed Forces, on the home front and at the war front. They organized speeches, visual presentations and published these well-illustrated Militärwissenschaftliche Mitteilungen magazines.

These softcover publications provide a glimpse into the state of World War II - military analysis, tactics and strategy, weapons, reports from the battlefield by eyewitnesses, the war economy, advances on the battlefield, historical perspectives and army data, retrospectives about fallen heroes, as well as maps, and reviews of new military books.
These issues include chapters about the front in Southern Italy, the psychological problems of combat troops, armament industry capacity and peacetime economy, America’s war economy, the historic Po Valley theater of war, heavy fighting on the east and west front, the belated British boom in war research, the war in the Pacific and East Asia, psychological experiences of leaders of Nazi reconnaissance troops, etc., etc.
This lot consists three issues published in the year 1944 by the the Vienna branch of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Wehrpolitik und Wehrwissenschaften. They are June, August, and September 1944 with over 170 pages. This was the last year of publication and there was little good news to report from the war front.

Left, in the September 1944 issue of Militärwissenschaftliche Mitteilungen the publisher announced that due to the Total War Effort no additional issues would be published and that in March of 1945 a decision would be made about the future of the magazine.
In charge of content of Militärwissenschaftliche Mitteilungen was retired Infantry General and Engineer Emil Ratzenhofer and it was published Verlag Militärwissenschaftliche Mitteilungen in Vienna. These three rare 1944 issues, including the last one ever published, are complete and in very nice used condition. No odor.

Be sure to notice the close-out on SS daggers, the first item in the Uniform-Degner advertising above! At the time
(fall of 1944) one Reichsmark was worth 40 US cents so the SS daggers in question were being offered for US$4.20
each! The small print below the address says in part that prepayment was necessary when ordering via Feldpost.
