NAZI IDENTITY DOCUMENT DOSSIER

Reichsführer-SS und Chef der Deutschen Polizei Schnellbrief
AN ABSOLUTELY GENUINE NAZI GOVERNMENT DOSSIER ON BORDER CROSSINGS AND THE AUSWEISE OR
IDENTITY DOCUMENTS REQUIRED - OVER 265 PAGES!
Nazi identity document dossier
This authentic Nazi identity document dossier is complete and provides an extremely rare in-depth look at the inner workings of the most thorough and secretive unit of Adolf Hitler’s government of Großdeutschland, the Reichsführer-SS und Chef der Deutschen Polizei in the Reichsministerium des Innern. The 3/4 inch thick dossier is comprised of more than 265 pages of correspondence, telegrams, sample identity documents, and supporting material, still bound together with an original Soennecken two-part metal clip.
Reichsführer-SS Office
Himmler Schnellbrief
This 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inch dossier is from the secret files of one of the highest level administrative units within the government of Nazi Germany - Der Reichskommissar für die Wiedervereinigung Österreich mit dem Deutschen Reich or the State Commissioner for the Reunification of Austria with the German Nation (hereinafter Reichskommissar), located in the second largest city of Großdeutschland, Wien (Vienna).
The cover sheet of the dossier was given number RSt/JM I-Ra 16/1940 in the files of the office of the Reichsstatthalter (the highest Nazi civil authority in the area) in Wien. The dossier was compiled by Dr. Friedrich Fischer who ran the office of the Reichskommissar, and the material bears dates from the fall of 1939 through mid 1941 when the subject was closed and a final conclusion drafted and accepted by the Reichsführer-SS.
Nazi Ausweis
Subject of the entire dossier is “Technical Regulations for Border Crossings Between German Occupied Areas such as Poland, Bohemia and Moravia and the Reich”.
The dossier begins with a red bordered “Schnellbrief” from the office of the Reichsführer-SS in Berlin dated 16 October 1939 and signed on behalf of SS-General Dr. Werner Best. It outlines the problem and seeks suggestions at the highest police levels about how it could be handled. Dozens of red bordered Schnellbriefe and many months later the problem was resolved.
Durchlass und Passierscheinen
Dr. Werner Best was an organizational genius who served as Deputy to both Reinhard Heydrich and Heinrich Himmler, held the position of Chief of Section I in the Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) and was head legal advisor to the Gestapo. He got this project moving swiftly and involved men such as (these names are taken from the correspondence in the dossier) Krause, Streckenbach, Ziaja, Dr. Hoffmann, Weintz, Meves, Hagen, Dr. Hedrich, Bösecke, Gotzmann, Krammer, Schönbrun, Dr. Fischer, Barth and Dr. Rainer, from agencies as diverse as the Reichsstatthalter in Wien, Reichsführer-SS und Chef der Deutschen Polizei, Reichsminister für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft, the Reichsarbeitsminister, the Polizeipräsident in Wien, the Generalgouverneur für die besetzten polnischen Gebiet, the Reichsdrückerei, the Reichskommissar für die Wiedervereinigung Österreich mit dem Deutschen Reich and the Gestapo Staatspolizeileitstelle Wien.

In addition to the many letters on Reichsführer-SS and other high level Nazi letterheads, there are telegram texts taken right off the telex machine (it also had a SS rune key!), issues of the Reichsgesetzblatt and even three different printer proof examples of Grenzausweise (Border Crossing Identity Documents) in pink, green and white!

Amazingly, there is even an original order for thousands of Ausweise and a response regarding the order from the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin.

This is a unique, irreplaceable Nazi archive of the very rarest sort. There is not another dossier like it on earth and the depth of the information contained in it is truly remarkable.
