This is a fine Second Expanded Edition of the heavily illustrated 1942 Nazi book about model aircraft called Modellflug im NS-Fliegerkorps written by NSFK-Standartenführer Gustav Bengsch and NSFK-Hauptsturmführer Wilhelm Haas.
The book starts with a full-page portrait photo (shown below) of Der Korpsführer des Nationalsozialistischen Fliegerkorps General der Flieger Christiansen. Facing his portrait is a Preface by Friedrich Christiansen in which he stresses the important role of National Socialist Flying Corps model airplane flying as part of pre-military service aviation education.

According to General der Flieger Christiansen, this book is a helpful tool in teaching the basics of aviation, as well as theory and practical foundations, so that young people with an interest in flying will join the Luftwaffe voluntarily in the future. He also suggests that aviation teachers should use Modellflug im NS-Fliegerkorps as a “guidebook and road map” to create more enthusiasm in young German boys and men for flying, and to help them understand that a bigger and greater Germany in the future has to be a “Flying Germany”.

The 5-3/4 x 8-1/8 inch softcover book has 288 pages with 269 pictures and illustrations interspersed in the text. The illustrated chapters cover using Modellflug in the framework of pre-military service aviation education, the development of Modellflug, the Reichsmodellflugschulen (RMFS) run by the NSFK (where young German boys and men could study model airplane aviation to qualify for membership in the Hitler Youth or NSFK depending on their age), Modellflug education for the Deutsches Jungvolk, drawing model airplane plans, how to read model airplane plans, model airplane workshops, painting model airplanes, model airplanes with gas engines, rubber band powered model airplanes, flight stability, self-steering and remote steering models, how to build model airplanes, etc., etc.

The book also contains a list of German Model Flight records between 1931 and 1942. It is noted that this is the first list like this ever released. In the back is a list of other suggested Nationalsozialistische Fliegerkorps and aviation publications as well as the index.
This fine example of Modellflug im NS-Fliegerkorps was published by Dr. Matthiesen & Co Verlag of Berlin in 1942 for the NSFK. It is in very nice, little-used condition. Inside the front cover is a handwritten dedication showing that Anneliese gave this book to her brother in April 1943 to commemorate Easter.
This fine 1942 example of Modellflug im NS-Fliegerkorps is offered for
